Brainard American Legion Rejda Post 273 is sponsoring a Veterans Memorial Project. The memorial will consist of three black granite panels. Each veteran’s name will be cut into the granite.

The purpose of the project is to honor family members and friends who honorably served in the U.S. armed forces. The memorial will be located on the north side of Evergreen Park in Brainard. A sign has been placed there to show the location.

A 4-by-8-inch space will contain three lines with a maximum of 15 characters per line. The price for each space is $150 until the order is sent for to the monument maker for laser work.

After that time, the price increases to $250 because the names will then have to be added on site.

Those who wish to order a space must turn in an application to the Brainard American Legion Post by June 1, 2018. The Post plans to have the monument installed by the fall of 2018.

For more information, and to get an application, contact Tom Pesek, (402) Clarence Greguras (402) 545-2432, Dave Kastl (402) 641-6723, Fred Benesch (402) 539-2078, or Dean Kriz, (402) 367-9045.
