We are well into winter so far with only one major snow, just a reminder that county road crews start plowing after the storm subsides, unless there is an emergency, such as helping a rescue squad get to a person who needs medical attention.
Road crews begin plow operations of the snowed in roads starting with other arterials, the main roads generally carrying traffic into towns.
On other issues, we have stock piled gravel in Brainard and Ulysses to speed up our gravel distribution come spring time.
Spring will be here before you know it and our road crews will be out doing seasonal maintenance which includes tar sealing on our asphalt roads. So be aware of our crews as you travel across the county.
In closing, enjoy the winter - it will be over soon. And drive alert, careful and as road conditions allow.
