Responders were called to two accidents in Butler County on Thursday.
The first was reported shortly before 1 a.m. at 670 County Road 35, according to dispatcher radio traffic.
The accident was described as a one vehicle rollover with two people involved. One person was lying in the roadway, the report said. The Rising City Fire Department was dispatched to the accident scene. The Banner-Press learned that because of the weather conditions forecast for Thursday, helicopter flights were not able to be sent out of Lincoln. Injured persons in the crash were transported to Columbus Community Hospital.
No reports have been made available from the Butler County Sheriff’s Office as of Friday.
The second accident occurred three miles southwest of David City. At 2:30 p.m. deputies were called to the scene of a one car rollover accident on Nebraska 92 at the corner of County Road M. The car was reported to be on its top and partially submerged in water.
According to a report on the BCSO Facebook page, Deputy Bill Drozd arrived at the scene and waded into knee-deep water to help free the occupant of the car from seat belts. David City Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene.
An accident report has not been released.
