Local One Act teams will vie this week for a slot at next week’s NSAA State Play Production Championships at the Johnny Carson Theater at Norfolk High School.

David City and Aquinas will compete at Milford in District B-3 on Friday, Dec. 1.  Aquinas performs "Little Shop of Horrors"  at 9:50 a.m., David City is on stage at 1:50 p.m. with "The Tragical History of Dr. Faustus."

The field includes Lincoln Christian, Aquinas Catholic, Wahoo, Bishop Neumann, North Bend Central, David City, Milford and Raymond Central.

East Butler, producing "Dear Chuck," competes at 1:15 p.m. Thursday in the District C2-2 meet at Cross County High School southwest of Stromsburg. The teams in competition are: McCool Junction, Nebraska Lutheran, Harvard, Cross County, Heartland, East Butler, Cedar Bluffs and Archbishop Bergan.

 Shelby-Rising City was slated for the District C1-2 competition on Tuesday at Stanton. The Huskies’ field included Twin River, Wisner-Pilger, Shelby-Rising City, Centennial, Nebraska Christian, Malcolm, Stanton and Battle Creek.

The State Championships are set for Norfolk next week. Class B will be held the afternoon of Friday, Dec. 8. Class C1 will be the morning of Thursday, Dec. 7, followed by the Class C2 competition. Class D1 and D2 will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 6.
