The Butler County Ministerial Association has announced the schedule for the “Sermons a la Carte” series for Lent 2018. This series of worship services on Fridays in Lent is a unique opportunity for people to worship together and hear a variety of Christian ministers speak on what it means to be a disciple of Jesus Christ.
This year’s services will follow the theme, “Thy Will Be Done.” Each service will focus on a different aspect of God’s will at work among us using biblical characters as reference points.
Six churches from four different Butler County communities will serve as hosts to this year’s Lenten series. A worship service will be held each Friday from 12:05-12:30 p.m. followed by a buffet lunch (free will donation) served by the host congregation. The public is welcome to attend.
An offering will be received at each service for an emergency fund administered by the Ministerial Association. These funds are used for individuals or families who are in need of immediate or short-term assistance. These Lenten offerings are an important source of funding for this program.
