On Oct. 4, fifteen Shelby-Rising City Ag students and FFA members attended South Central Area Land Judging in Bruning. With a total of 322 individuals and 85 teams, S-RC had a 4th place and a 10th place team.

The 4th place team consisting of Garrett Ingalls, Jett Pinneo, Grant Lindsley, and Carson Rathje qualified for State Land Judging on Oct. 18.

Jett Pinneo was Area Champion, placing first individually earning a purple ribbon. Blue ribbons (top 15 percent) were awarded to Quin Micek, Alec Wiesman, and Julia Augustin. Red ribbons (top 25 percent) were awarded to Carson Rathje, Jayce Vrbka, Garrett Ingalls, Antonio Lopez, and Grant Lindsley.

Tori Perry received a white ribbon, placing in the top 50 percent of individuals. Whitney Lehn is the S-RC FFA advisor.

State Contest

The Shelby-Rising City FFA team placed 10th at the State Land Judging contest in Dodge County on Oct. 18. Carson Rathje placed 16th individually, earning a blue ribbon. Grant Lindsley and Garrett Ingalls received white ribbons, and Jett Pinneo earned a pink ribbon. There were 30 teams, with 144 individual participants.
