Bonita “Bonnie” E. Arney, 82 of Wahoo, Nebraska passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at Bryan East Medical Center in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Services were held Saturday, October 7 at Svoboda Funeral Home, Wahoo, with Pastor Andrew Dietzel officiating. Burial was at Sunrise North Cemetery, Wahoo.
She was born October 31, 1934 in rural Touhy to Julius and Frances Zetocha. She attended grade school in the Touhy area and was confirmed at St. Vitus Catholic Church in Touhy. Bonnie was united in marriage on January 2, 1951 to Donald F. Arney in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
Bonnie was a waitress at Fairview Café and part of the janitorial staff at the Saunders County Courthouse. She enjoyed antiquing, crossword puzzles, Keno and Bingo. Her passion was her family and loved spending time with them. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Post #82 and Post #273.
Bonita is survived by her children, Diane (Marvin) Ourada of Prague, Donald Arney, Jr. of Wahoo, Michael (Kimberly) Arney of Wahoo, James (Michelle) Arney of Tallahassee, Fla.; sons-in-law, Randy Abbott of Wahoo, Jim Slosser of Wahoo; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brother, Ernie (Marge) Zetocha of Weston; dear friend, Sheryl Smith; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald F. Arney, Sr., sons, John and Raymond Arney; daughters, Kathy Abbott, Laurie Jensen; grandson Randy Abbott, parents, sisters and brothers-in-law, Irene and Louis Tvrdy, Betty and Don Hall, Margaret and Edward Tomsicek, Frances and Joe Matejcek; brother, Julius Zetocha.
