Elva Janak, 81, 81 of Walton passed away September 19, 2017 after a year battle with cancer.
Elva was born Nov. 26, 1935 in Shelby, Nebraska to Ralph and Ruth (Owens) Davidson.
She attended country schools in Polk and Butler County and graduated from David City High School in David City in 1953. She then attended Bryan School of Nursing and received her Diploma RN license in 1956. On December 27, 1956, she married Richard Janak of Surprise. In 1959, they moved to the farm near Walton where she helped on the farm where they raised Charolais cattle. She loved nurturing her cats and tending her flowers.
To this union two children were born, Douglas Edward of Bennet and Colleen Marie (David) Nielsen of Walton. She was especially proud of her three grandchildren, Caleb and Jared Nielsen and Emily Janak. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and attending their numerous activities.
She was especially proud of being a RN for 60 years. She started her nursing career at Bryan Hospital, then worked at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lincoln Clinic, Women’s Clinic, and finished her career at Aging Partners as she officially retired on Oct. 3, 2016.
She is survived by her children, grandchildren, and sister-in-law, Mary Davidson of Osceola. Nephews: Robert (Julie) Davidson, Brooke and Bradley of Hudson Wisconsin, and Todd (Carlie) Davidson, Garrett and Kelsie of Osceola. She is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, parents, and brother, Leonard Davidson.
