Jacquelyne Loree (Jackie) DeMuth died Wednesday, August 15, 2017, in San Francisco, California. Jackie, the daughter of Sal and Arnola (Judevine) DeMuth, was born May 29, 1930 in Bellwood, Nebraska. She attended the public schools there, graduating in 1947.
Her working career started at the Bellwood Co-op doing clerical work, then moving on to the Union Pacific headquarters in Omaha. From there she moved to Seattle and finally settling in San Francisco where she worked for years as a legal secretary.
She shared memories with her younger siblings of living in the old Bellwood Hotel which her parents managed for some years. During that period she and sister Dianne and other friends learned tap dancing from the noted instructor Sam Brown, who would stay at the Hotel while teaching in the area. Jackie had a love for music which she inherited from her parents, specifically Jazz in its many forms. During her lifetime she was able to attend performances of many of the most famous names in Jazz.
She enjoyed dancing, was an avid reader and was also a big fan of the San Francisco Forty-Niners and the Giants attending many of their games. Upon her retirement she volunteered with the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra and San Francisco Tourism Visitors Bureau.
She was able to keep in touch with many of her High School classmates over the years and especially enjoyed the frequent visits of her nieces and nephew and their families who lived in the same area.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Dianne (Davis), Sharon (Burdick), and Barbara DeMuth. Survivors include her sister Mary(Romshek) in Bellwood and brother Dan and wife Patti in Lincoln and many generations of nieces and nephews. Jackie's wish was to be cremated.
