Michael E. Behrendt, 47, of Bruno, Nebraska formerly of Ravenna, died Saturday, September 30, 2017 in Bruno.

Services were held Friday, October 6 at Grace Lutheran Church in Pleasanton. Pastor Dean Hanson will officiate. Burial at Pleasanton Cemetery. Rasmussen Funeral Home in Ravenna was in charge of arrangements.

Michael Eugene Behrendt was born Feb. 20, 1970 in Kearney to Bob and Marjorie (Zimmer) Behrendt. He graduated from Ravenna High School in 1988. He attended CCC in Hastings and UNK. He helped as needed on the family farm for several years where he was the proud owner of a small herd of Hereford minis.

He later worked at Chief Fabrication in Grand Island, Marshall Engines in Kearney and Henningson Foods in Ravenna. He was promoted to plant manager of Henningson Foods, Inc. at David City as well as being VP of Egg Manufacturing and Production at Henningson Foods, Inc. where he worked 24/7 to make the plant more productive as well as a better environment to work in. He was very well liked within the community, the plant and by its Japanese owners.

Mike and his ex-wife, Amy (Bauer) Behrendt owned and operated BEHR BQ Catering and Concessions out of Ravenna. They attended many large competitions in the area, bringing home top honors.

Mike enjoyed having a good time. He was an avid Husker fan. He loved fishing, cooking and entertaining friends and family, gardening and then taking care of his produce.

He loved his children and was very proud of them as he watched them grow and begin building their own lives.

Mike touched the lives and hearts of many and will be greatly missed by all. God speed. We love you.

Survivors include his daughter, Brittany Behrendt and her boyfriend, Eli Zwiener of Pleasanton and son, Trevin Behrendt and his girlfriend, Karly Nitsch, of Sioux Falls, S.D. his parents of Ravenna, sister, Bobbi Tavenner and children, Haley and Aaron of Kearney, brother, John Behrendt (Amy Ostermeyer) and children, Lindsey, Riley, Remi, Raegan and Reese of Ravenna and sister Danelle (Josh) Nutt and children, Bailey and Gunner of Ravenna, his very close friend, Angie Andrews of Bruno and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dean and Sylvia Zimmer and Dee and Alice Behrendt.

Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
