Scouts compete at SNC Meet

The David City boys cross country team competed in the Southern Nebraska Conference Meet Oct. 5 at Doane College.

Junior Carter Ossian was the top finisher for the Scouts, placing 22nd with a time of 21:00.38. He was just a step ahead of Rayshun Forman of Centennial, who edged DC’s Dalton Kraus and his time of 21:00.70.

Aubrey Fangmeier of Thayer Central won the boys race and he was joined by four teammates in the top six to dominate the meet and capture the team title.

The girls team title was won by Fairbury, followed by Milford and Fillmore Central. Fillmore Central’s Grace Jacobsen finished in 20:34.41, almost 50 seconds ahead of Ashely Kroese of Milford.

East Butler girls second at McCool Junction

East Butler’s girls placed second in the McCool Junction Invite Oct. 5 at Camp Kateri.

Amanda Aerts won the girls race in a time of 20:10, almost 90 seconds ahead of McCool’s Madison Gerken. Three teammates joined Aerts in the top 15.

McCool Junction won the meet and no other teams had enough runners to compile team scores.

East Butler finished fourth in the boys race behind Shelton, Blue Hill/Red Cloud and McCool Junction.
