CREIGHTON — The final seconds had ticked off and the East Butler players began taking a knee on the south end of the field Nov. 7.

That's when some booming fireworks began shooting off behind the north end zone. A team prayer followed and then a brief talk from the Tigers' head coach.

"Going back to Dwight, baby!" coach Shawn Biltoft belted out to a roar from his players.

Dalton Bohac's big night involved four touchdowns passes, including the game-clincher late to lead No. 10 East Butler to a 40-28 upset of No. 2 Creighton in the Class D-1 football quarterfinals.

"This is huge," Bohac said. "The whole community throughout the whole week, we've had pep rallies. Everyone is behind this. They all want it just as bad as us."

The Tigers (9-2) scored four touchdowns in the second quarter, and took a 32-20 lead in the third quarter on Trevor Havlovic's 3-yard TD catch.

Creighton answered midway through the fourth to cut the lead to 32-28, but East Butler got the ball back and charged down the field on a drive that included a 20-yard conversion from Havlovic on fourth down. On fourth-and-goal from the 1, Bohac hit Camden Robley for a touchdown to push it back to a two-possession game.

"Our players really stepped up in big-time situations like they've done all year," Biltoft said. "Played really physical tonight and really stepped up, stopped the running game and forced them to pass, which is kind of out of their element."

Bohac, a senior, threw for 184 yards and rushed for 138 on 36 carries. Creighton entered the game allowing just 11.3 points per game.

"Everyone has an individual battle and they if win that, you're going to win as a team," Bohac said. "We did that and our line gets good push. We know when we're wearing down teams and we can feel it."

Brayden Zimmerer, a sophomore, scored four touchdowns for Creighton (10-1).

East Butler has won its first three playoff games for the first time since 2004.
