Meridian overpowers Tigers

The Meridian Mustangs’ offense brought more than the East Butler volleyball team could handle in the game Sept. 19 at Daykin.

East Butler coach Karmen Widick said that Meridian (5-1) posed a lot of challenges for the Tigers.

“I am proud of the girls' effort and think we played really well against an extremely talented team,” Widick said. “They had more offensive power than we did and were able to pretty much hit the ball wherever they wanted to, but I think our defense frustrated them at times because we were able to keep balls alive. The girls played relaxed and confidently; if they continue to do that in all of our games, there will be a lot of positive things come out of the rest of the season.:
