Hill receives DAISY Award

COLUMBUS -- Dustin Hill, a registered nurse and house supervisor with the acute care and intensive care units at Columbus Community Hospital, was recently presented with the DAISY Award.

Hill started his career at CCH on Aug. 24, 2009, as a licensed practical nurse and was promoted to house supervisor in July 2016.

As his nomination stated, Hill treats patients with respect and compassion. He mentioned to the patient’s family that it was an honor to be their family member’s nurse, as he met a number of the patient’s family while he administered care. The patient’s family said it was an honor to meet Hill and for him to care for their family member.

The DAISY Award is an international program that rewards and celebrates the extraordinary clinical skill and compassionate care given by nurses. CCH recognizes one nurse with this honor quarterly.

Hill received a certificate of recognition, DAISY Award pin and hand-carved stone sculpture entitled “A Healer’s Touch.”

YFC helps with holiday project

COLUMBUS -- Through a partnership with the Columbus Optimist Club, Youth for Christ was able to give teens a great service opportunity by decorating doors for downtown businesses this holiday season.

In spite of bad weather, 24 youths put bows on 104 doors at local businesses. It was a great experience that left the group looking forward to helping again next year.
