Monroe church hosting dinner

MONROE -- Monroe United Methodist Church will host a turkey dinner from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Sunday in the Monroe gymnasium north of Highway 22.

The meal will include side dishes and pies. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children younger than 12. There will also be handmade items for sale.

The event is open to the public.

Soup supper in Raeville

RAEVILLE -- St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Raeville will hold a soup supper from 4:30-7:30 p.m. Nov. 12 in the new parish hall.

A freewill offering will be accepted for the meal, which includes a choice of chili, chicken noodle or vegetable beef soups plus homemade bread, pies and desserts.

CDA welcoming new members

COLUMBUS -- Court Little Flower #988 of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas will meet at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 13 at the Knights of Columbus Hall.

The meeting will include a reception for new members with Communion service. Sandwiches and desserts will be served.

Supper supports youth ministry

COLUMBUS -- The public is invited to attend a soup supper from 4:30-7:30 p.m. Nov. 10 at the Peace Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall.

Featured soups will include chili, ham and bean and chicken noodle, and there will also be desserts and beverages available. Cost is $6 for adults, $5 for seniors ages 65 and older, $4 for kids ages 6-11, and free for children 5 and younger.

Proceeds will be used to support youth ministry activities. The Peace Women’s Guild will hold its craft and bake sale during this event.

Nativity scenes on display

SCHUYLER -- The public is invited to St. Benedict Center to view Nativity scenes from around the world, including the Holy Land, Africa, Asia, South America, North America and Europe.

The Nativity display will run 8 a.m.-7 p.m. Nov. 26–Dec. 17 and Jan. 2–5. There is no admission fee.

Christmas play at St. Benedict

SCHUYLER -- The Teens of Divine Mercy Parish will present a play for the whole family in several acts related to the Christmas message.

Two indoor shows will be performed at 5 and 7 p.m. Dec. 2 at St. Benedict Center. There will be hot chocolate, cider, coffee and homemade Christmas cookies following each show. Tickets are $3 for adults and $1 for children.

Church hosting harvest dinner

COLUMBUS -- The public is invited to the Immanuel Lutheran Church harvest dinner from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Nov. 12 in the Family Life Center, 1470 23rd Ave.

The menu will include turkey and all the trimmings. Cost is $10 for adults, $5 for kids ages 6-10, and free for children 5 and younger.

CYM holding breakfast

COLUMBUS -- Catholic Youth Ministry will hold a pancake and sausage breakfast from 7:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Sunday in the St. Isidore Elementary School cafeteria.

Cost is $6 for adults, $4 for youths and free for children younger than 5.

Proceeds will support youth ministry activities, including summer youth missions.

OACCW meeting in Petersburg

PETERSBURG -- The Omaha Archdiocesan Council of Catholic Women (OACCW) will hold its fall meeting Nov. 14 at St. John the Baptist Parish, 201 N. Fourth St., in Petersburg, hosted by the women of the Rural Central (RC) Deanery.

All Catholic women of the Archdiocese of Omaha are invited to attend. Registration is at 9:30 a.m. with the meeting beginning at 10 a.m. Registration includes rolls, coffee and lunch. Mass will be offered.

The group will review the recent conventions of the National Council of Catholic Women and OACCW. Deacon John Starman will discuss a new program he is leading in his parish. Bring any board books, underwear, socks or diapers to donate for service projects.
