CHS holding winter concert

COLUMBUS -- Columbus High School will hold its winter concert at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Nantkes Performing Arts Center at Columbus Middle School.

The concert will feature the Classmen, treble choir, mixed choir, New World Singers and CHS concert choir under the direction of Jacob Ritter. Doors will open at 2:30 p.m. for this free concert.

Holiday event at Cottonwood

COLUMBUS -- Cottonwood Place, 3271 29th Ave., invites the public to attend a holiday event from 1-6 p.m. Thursday.

Refreshments will be provided and holiday cookies and other treats will be available for purchase.

Round-table event on recycling

COLUMBUS -- Recycling providers in the Columbus area will attend a public discussion from 4-6 p.m. Tuesday at Columbus Public Library.

Representatives from GreenFiber, Nebraska Recycling Council, Keep Columbus Beautiful, Schuyler Recycling and Central Community College's sustainability program will present and lead a discussion about current and future recycling opportunities in Columbus.

This round table is free and open to the public, and is intended to raise public awareness about the process of recycling, highlight recycling options in Columbus and show public support for a recycling program. Community involvement is encouraged.

Register for CCC spring classes

COLUMBUS -- General registration for spring semester classes at Central Community College will be Jan. 3.

Advisers will be available to assist students with class selection, scheduling, housing, financial aid and other concerns. Prior to registering, prospective students are required to take a pre-enrollment assessment test, which can be arranged by contacting the assessment office. Registration may be completed from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. in the Administration Center at the Columbus campus. The student accounts and registration offices will be open until 6:30 p.m. Jan. 8.

Classes begin Jan. 8. However, the college’s open enrollment system allows students to begin individualized classes after the start of the session. Late registration can be completed at the campus registration offices.
