Holiday meal changes location

COLUMBUS -- The annual community Thanksgiving banquet will be held 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Nov. 23 at The Sanctuary of 1C Church, 2200 28th Ave.

Everyone in the community is welcome to attend as a guest or volunteer. The committee is asking for monetary donations as well as home-prepared desserts and salads, which can be dropped off at The Sanctuary from 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. Nov. 22, or at The Broken Mug Coffee Shop on the north side of The Sanctuary from 7-8 p.m. The Thanksgiving banquet will also include board games, cards and football games shown on the church’s large screens.

Meal delivery will be available to those who are homebound; or rides will be given to those who want to attend but lack transportation.

Cookie sale part of annual Stroll

COLUMBUS -- Federated Church will host its annual Cookies and More sale from 5-7 p.m. Thursday during the Downtown Christmas Stroll.

Homemade cookies and candies will be available for purchase in the church hall, 2704 15th St. There will also be free snacks, beverages and door prizes.

Mountain oyster feed at VFW

COLUMBUS -- The annual mountain oyster feed will be held 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the VFW.

This event is sponsored by AmVets.

Craft boutique at local school

COLUMBUS -- The Scotus Mothers Craft Boutique will be held 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Dec. 3 at Scotus Central Catholic, 1554 18th Ave., with four areas of crafts.

Admission is $4 for adults and $2 for kids in grades one through six. More than 100 vendors will be selling only handmade, homemade and upcycled/repurposed crafts. A concession stand will be available, and there will be a visit from Santa. There will also be a shuttle service provided throughout the day and hold tables at three entrances to keep packages until you are ready to leave.

Holiday open house at CCH

COLUMBUS -- The Columbus Community Hospital volunteers will host their 16th annual holiday open house from 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Friday in the hospital's third-floor conference center.

The open house will feature holiday entertaining and serving items, pepper jellies, dip mixes, children’s Christmas books, holiday items, women’s shawls and mittens and baby clothes and accessories. Refreshments will be served.

Proceeds from this event fund medical equipment and program advancement purchases.

Musical comedy part of Big Give

ALBION -- The Boone County Historical Society Performing Arts Remodel Committee will present area actors and musicians in the musical comedy revue "Hee Flaw 2.0" at 7 p.m. Nov. 27-28 in the Boone Central performance gym.
