AG speaking to Lions Club

COLUMBUS — Nebraska Attorney General Doug Peterson is scheduled to visit the Columbus Noon Lions Club at Monday's meeting.

The Lions meet over the noon hour in the club room at Hy-Vee. Anyone wishing to hear Peterson's presentation is invited to attend. No RSVP is needed.

Soup feed at local church

COLUMBUS -- Everlasting Love Church, 4714 27th St., will host its annual soup feed from 4:30–7:30 p.m. today.

Soup choices include chili, chicken noodle, cheesy potato and vegetable beef. All soups are homemade and served with a drink and cinnamon roll. Cost is $6 for ages 12 years and older and $4 for children ages 11 years and younger. Takeout is available.

There will also be a drawing for a basket of fall goods.

Breakfast for hunters in Genoa

GENOA -- A hunters' breakfast will be held 5-10 a.m. Saturday at the Pawnee Senior Center, 115 N. Oak St., in Genoa.

The breakfast will include sausage gravy and biscuits, scrambled eggs, watermelon, juice and coffee for $7.50.

Estate seminar offered at CCH

COLUMBUS -- James and Thomas Fehringer will present an estate planning seminar from 6-8 p.m. Nov. 20 at Columbus Community Hospital in the third-floor conference center.

The seminar will cover the benefits of estate planning and help attendees learn how to get started. The seminar is hosted by the Columbus Community Hospital Foundation. It is free and open to the public. Seating is limited, so reservations are required by Nov. 15.

Sertoma seeking award nominees

SCHUYLER -- Schuyler Sertoma Club is requesting nominations for the Service to Mankind Award, which recognizes people for their community service and volunteer work.
