Fundraiser for CHS band
COLUMBUS -- The Columbus High School band will hold a fundraiser from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Pizza Ranch, 2266 33rd Ave.
Fifteen percent of all sales will be donated to the band.
Heritage hosting craft boutique
COLUMBUS -- Heritage at Meridian Gardens, 4515 38th St., will hold a fall craft boutique from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Thursday.

Christmas items at PCHS meeting
COLUMBUS -- The Platte County Historical Society will present "Historic Christmas" by Steve Kovar at 2 p.m. Sunday at the museum, 2916 16th St.
Kovar will share his vast collection of vintage Christmas items. Admission is free for PCHS members and $3 for nonmembers.
Dinner, expo supports pool
CRESTON -- The Creston Women’s Fall Dinner and Expo will be held 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday at the Creston Community Center.
The meal will include roast beef and turkey. Cost is $9 for ages 13 years and older and $5 for children 5-12 years old. Proceeds from this event will be used to purchase a new filter tank for the Creston pool.
Blues artist playing at bar
COLUMBUS -- Eight-time Grammy nominee, recent Blues Hall of Fame inductee and Australian blues artist Michael Charles will perform 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Micek Bar, 2506 12th St.
Charles will perform original blues numbers, blues-based rock, ballads and some well-known covers. No cover charge.

Library hosting Book Festival
COLUMBUS -- The fourth annual Book Festival will be held 2-4 p.m. Saturday at Columbus Public Library.
Enjoy refreshments while meeting Nebraskan authors. The authors will have copies of their books to sell and sign, and there will be a book reading in an adjoining room. The event is free and open to the public.

Pancake feed hosted by Scouts
COLUMBUS -- Boy Scout Troop 212 will hold a pancake feed from 4:30-7:30 p.m. Nov. 7 at Federated Church, 2704 15th St.
All-you-can-eat homemade buttermilk pancakes, sausage and beverages will be offered for a freewill donation.
