Volunteers for museum needed
COLUMBUS -- The NE 150 Truckin’ Through Nebraska Mobile Children’s Museum is headed to Columbus on Sept. 14–16, and volunteers are needed to help host the museum during its stay along 14th Street between 23rd and 24th avenues.
The museum is a fun, hands-on experience created in honor of the 150th anniversary of Nebraska statehood. Volunteer shifts are available in four-hour time slots each day. A 15-minute training session prior to the start of a shift is required for volunteers new to the exhibit. The exhibit will be open 3-7 p.m. Sept. 14, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sept. 15 and 8 a.m.-noon Sept. 16.

Husker party at St. Isidore
COLUMBUS -- The St. Isidore Knights of Columbus will host a Husker football party Oct. 28 at the St. Isidore cafeteria, 3921 20th St.
Doors will open two hours before game time, with BBQ pork provided by the State Knights. Cost is $20 per person, with drawings for cash and a Smart TV. There will also be prizes each quarter and each score. Bring your own beverage and chairs. Alcohol is allowed.
Proceeds will be used to support youth activities, vocations and the Rose for Motherhood program at St. Isidore Catholic Church.

Annual memorial service planned
COLUMBUS -- The Precious H.E.A.R.T.S. (Healing, Embracing and Remembering Through Sharing) interfaith memorial service for individuals who have experienced a pregnancy loss will be held 1:30 p.m. Oct. 15 at Columbus Community Hospital in the third-floor conference room.
This is a nondenominational service open to family, extended family and friends of individuals who have experienced a pregnancy loss prior to 20 weeks. The service will be led by Pastor Dan Odom of First Baptist Church. There is no charge to attend this event. Refreshments will be served following the service.

Guard unit holding reunion
COLUMBUS -- All past and present members who are serving or served in the Nebraska National Guard Columbus unit are invited to attend a sesquicentennial edition Co. C 1/134th Infantry reunion 2 p.m. Sept. 9 at Camp Pawnee, 2330 S. 16th St.
A group picture will be taken at 4:30 pm. Camping facilities are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Food and refreshments will be potluck style or bring your own.
