Luebe honored by Rotary
COLUMBUS -- Maddie Luebe, a senior at Columbus High School, was selected by the Noon Rotary as its student of the month.
Luebe is president of Key Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Health Occupations Students of America, and treasurer for her senior class. She is also a member of the National Honor Society, student council, CHS 101, Quiz Bowl and the CHS cross country team. Outside of school she is a member of the iDance Project Competition Team and works at Columbus Community Hospital in the Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Clinic as part of the VolunTEEN program.
Russell enters honor society
GRAND ISLAND -- Sharon Russell of Clarks was one of 10 students recently inducted into the Alpha Tau Tau Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society at Central Community College-Grand Island.
Individuals selected as members are recognized for their academic excellence, good character and citizenship. To obtain membership, students must be enrolled in a two-year college with at least a 3.5 grade-point average. A 3.25 GPA is required to maintain membership.
PTK inducts new members
COLUMBUS -- Six students have been inducted into the Chi Sigma Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society at Central Community College-Columbus.
The new members are Mary Groene of Clarkson, Maria Gonzalez-Juarez of Columbus, Ciarra Howell of David City, Jessica Kill of Genoa, Shelby Fuhr of Leigh and Jailene Ramirez of Schuyler.
Phi Theta Kappa is an international honor society for two-year colleges. To obtain membership, students must have earned 12 hours of college credit and a 3.5 grade-point average. A 3.25 GPA is required to maintain membership.
