Telegram office closed for holiday
COLUMBUS — The Columbus Telegram office will be closed Thursday and Friday for the Thanksgiving holiday.
The newspaper will still be produced on its regular schedule, with editions on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, including the special Thanksgiving Day paper filled with Black Friday ads.
Musical comedy part of Big Give
ALBION -- The Boone County Historical Society Performing Arts Remodel Committee will present area actors and musicians in the musical comedy revue "Hee Flaw 2.0" at 7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday in the Boone Central performance gym.
This presentation is part of the 2017 Boone County Big Give.
Big Pals wrapping holiday gifts
COLUMBUS -- Big Pals-Little Pals will have a Christmas gift-wrapping booth at the Turkeyfest Craft Show set for Saturday and Sunday in 30 Center Mall.
Hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday. For a freewill donation, members of the organization will wrap your gifts.
Big Pals-Little Pals is a mentoring organization that matches adult volunteers with children ages 6-19 from single-parent homes in order to provide them with an adult friend and role model. For more information, call Roxanne at 402-563-1081 or visit bigpals.org.
Holiday meal changes location
COLUMBUS -- The annual community Thanksgiving banquet will be held 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Thursday at The Sanctuary of 1C Church, 2200 28th Ave.
Everyone in the community is welcome to attend as a guest or volunteer. The committee is asking for monetary donations as well as home-prepared desserts and salads, which can be dropped off at The Sanctuary from 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. today, or at The Broken Mug Coffee Shop on the north side of The Sanctuary from 7-8 p.m. The Thanksgiving banquet will also include board games, cards and football games shown on the church’s large screens.
Meal delivery will be available to those who are homebound; or rides will be given to those who want to attend but lack transportation.

City closures for Thanksgiving
COLUMBUS -- Some city of Columbus departments will be closed Thursday and Friday in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.
Those closed include animal control, Columbus Area Transit, Columbus Community Center and all departments located in City Hall. Columbus Public Library will close at 5 p.m. today and be closed Thursday and Friday. The aquatic center will close at 1 p.m. today, be closed on Thursday and will reopen at 8 a.m. Friday for adult-only laps and exercises, and from 1-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. for open swim. The transfer station will be closed Thanksgiving Day. On Friday, it will be open to licensed garbage haulers only from 8 a.m.-noon. The yard waste site will be closed Thursday and Friday and will reopen Saturday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
