Hudnall wins at State Fair

COLUMBUS -- Madeline Hudnall of Columbus won best of show at the 2017 Nebraska State Fair with her black Cochin Bantam. She is the daughter of Eric and Delanie Hudnall.

Raider dance team selected

COLUMBUS -- Seven Central Community College-Columbus students have been selected for the 2017-18 Raider Dance and Cheer Team.

Members include the following students from area communities: Columbus - Katrina Enderson, Cassie Seckel and Rayna Whitmore; Schuyler - Maddy Wolfe.

The team cheers at home volleyball and basketball games and performs at halftime of basketball games. Scholarships are available to qualified members of the dance team. The team sponsors are Lynette Hogelin and Britt Steiner.

Central names resident assistants

COLUMBUS -- Seven students have been selected as resident assistants for the 2017-18 academic year at Central Community College-Columbus.

Resident assistants are student leaders who help her with operation of the residence centers. Their duties include staffing the front desk, acting as role models and helping students get involved on campus. The resident assistants include the following students from area communities: Columbus - Hunter Derochie, Kaylee Johnson and Jon Luckey; Leigh - Shelby Fuhr.

Egger receives scholarship

MANHATTAN, Kan. -- Lane Egger of Columbus was among the 150 K-State Alumni Association’s Legacy Scholarship recipients to be recognized during a presentation at the Kansas State University football game in Manhattan on Sept. 2.

The $1,000 scholarships were awarded to students who are children and grandchildren of Kansas State alumni for the 2017-18 academic year. Students receiving the scholarships are incoming freshmen as well as current and transfer students.
