COLUMBUS — A 22-year-old Columbus man has been charged with six counts of first-degree sexual assault of a minor in connection with relationships he is accused of carrying on with two underage girls during 2016 and 2017.
Dustin Pospisil is scheduled to enter pleas to the charges Feb. 9 in Platte County District Court.
His bond has been set at $250,000, 10 percent allowed for release. He has been in custody at the county jail since his arrest early this month.
All six sexual assault charges are Class II felonies, each punishable by up to 50 years imprisonment.
A Columbus Police investigation began in July with reports from the alleged victims during interviews at the Norfolk Group Home and Nova Treatment Community in Omaha, where the teens were living last summer.
The girls both described having multiple sexual contacts with Pospisil, sometimes using drugs and sometimes not, at his Columbus residence and other locations, according to Investigator Bret Strecker’s probable cause arrest statement.
Pospisil said he thought the girls were 16, the state’s statutory age of sexual consent, but admitted they could have been 14 or 15, the investigator wrote in his statement.
