Police investigating vandalism reports

COLUMBUS — Columbus Police are investigating a series of vehicle vandalism incidents reported over an eight-hour period Tuesday in several areas of the community.

Five reports of vehicle windows being shot out began at 8:30 a.m. and ended shortly before 3:15 p.m., with the incidents ranging from the 2500 block of 35th Avenue in the central area of the city to the 3600 block of 16th Street in southwest Columbus.

A listing of Tuesday’s vandalism reports to police follows:

8:30 a.m. – Criminal mischief in the 2500 block of 35th Avenue, vehicle window damaged, $350 loss.

11:17 a.m. – Criminal mischief at the Platte County Sheriff’s Office, 2610 14th St., vehicle window damaged, $250 loss.

11:55 a.m. – Criminal mischief at Outreach Center, 3602 16th St., vehicle window damaged, $500 loss.

2:51 p.m. – Criminal mischief at 2311 16th St., vehicle window damaged, no loss amount.

3:14 p.m. – Criminal mischief at an unknown location in Columbus, vehicle window damaged.

Detention Center

The inmate count at the Platte County Detention Facility Wednesday was 95, with 47 from Platte County and 48 from out of county.

Jan. 24

8:59 a.m. – At an unknown location, an unknown vehicle struck a parked vehicle owned by Genevieve Cegieski and Cristal Saathoff, 3413 19th St., and left the scene.

Jan. 26

7:11 a.m. – At 3168 26th Ave., Sarah Kamm, 35, 3168 26th Ave., was cited for terroristic threats and use of a firearm to commit a felony.

Jan. 27

8:07 a.m. – At 858 33rd Ave., No. C-2, Ernesto Leon, 30, 2519 Eighth St., was cited for third-degree domestic assault, criminal mischief at obstructing a police officer.

11:29 a.m. – At the intersection of Eighth Street and 33rd Avenue, Andrea Alvarado, 18, Ord, was cited for a traffic signal violation and no operator’s license.

4:08 p.m. – At 818 E. 23rd St., Julie Kruse, 39, St. Edward, was cited for second-degree trespassing.

8:30 a.m. – Criminal mischief in the 2500 block of 35th Avenue, vehicle window damaged, $350 loss, under investigation.

11:17 a.m. – Criminal mischief at the Platte County Sheriff’s Office, 2610 14th St., vehicle window damaged, $250 loss, under investigation.

11:55 a.m. – Criminal mischief at Outreach Center, 3602 16th St., vehicle window damaged, $500 loss, under investigation.

8:52 a.m. – Traffic violation at Klub 81 in Humphrey, Zurabi Sakandelidze jailed for no operator’s license and cited for speeding.

10:50 a.m. – Wanted person at the Platte County Detention Facility, 1125 E. 17th St., Felipe Zayas of Columbus turned self in on a Platte County warrant.

11:35 a.m. – Traffic violation at the intersection of Southeast 36th Avenue and Southeast Third Avenue, Killi Marxsen of Columbus cited for a stop sign violation.

7:02 p.m. – Traffic violation at the intersection of East Eighth Street and Southeast Ninth Street, Mireya Cabanas of Columbus cited for no operator’s license.

8:09 p.m. – Traffic violation at the intersection of East Eighth Street and East 14th Avenue, Armando Rodriguez of Columbus cited for speeding.
