LINDSAY — Two people were transported to an area hospital Thursday following a two-vehicle accident on Highway 91 just east of Lindsay.

The Platte County Sheriff's Office says 19-year-old Kyle Stone of Newman Grove was driving a 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix east on the highway when he attempted to turn around at the 385th Avenue intersection. As he attempted to turn around, an eastbound 2017 Ford F-150 pickup driven by 27-year-old Lyndon Stone of Lindsay struck the rear of the Grand Prix, sending both vehicles into the south ditch.

Rescue units from Humphrey and Lindsay responded to the accident, which occurred shortly before 2 p.m., and both drivers were transported to Boone County Health Center in Albion. Their conditions were not included in a sheriff's office press release.

Damage estimates were $15,000 to the Grand Prix and $5,000 to the F-150.

The accident remains under investigation.
