Are you looking for a certain book? Maybe a friend recommended that you should read a certain book. Thinking about buying it? Why not see if the library has the book first? Then you can judge if you would like to buy it or not. If the library does not have the book you are looking for we can have it shipped to us from another library in the United States, with $2 for shipping, for you to check out. With access to libraries all over the United States, that covers a wide variety of titles that we can find for you.

Don’t want to spend the $2 for shipping? Ask a librarian for a suggestion slip and write down the title and author of the book with your name and phone number. If the book is ordered you will be called as soon as it is available for check out. Isn’t that great service? Wait, there’s more! Much more!

What if the library has the book you want but it’s checked out by someone else? A librarian can put a hold on that title for you, and when it is available, you will receive an email or phone call to let you know that we are holding it for you. We keep books, DVDs and audio books that are on hold for one week at the front desk to give you time to pick them up. We don’t keep them any longer, so others can have access to them. You can place holds on titles yourself though our website www.cplconnect.us. All you need is your library card number and PIN number. If you don’t know your PIN number, just call the library at 402-564-7116 and we can let you know what it is. When you place a hold with your home computer for an available book, make sure to give us until the next day to get the book pulled for you.

Not able to get out of the house often to come to the library? No problem. We can create a homebound account for you so your books, DVDs or audios can be delivered by a volunteer. The volunteer will also pick up your books when you are finished with them. Just tell us what you want to read and we will deliver.

What if you are reading a series of books and one book in the series is only available in e-book format. You don’t have a Nook, Kindle or iPad and you really want to read that book. Can the library solve this problem? You bet! We have e-readers you can check out from our library just like you would check out a paper book. We already have titles downloaded on the different e-readers for you, but if you want us to add a specific title, we can do that, too. We can also help you download e-books on your personal devices.

These wonderful services are just a drop in the bucket of all your library has to offer you. Come and visit us or like us on Facebook to see what programs and events are coming that you don’t want to miss. We would love to serve you!
