LINCOLN — Cecelia “Sally” Shotkoski, 77, of Lincoln, formerly of Fullerton, died Jan. 12, 2010, surrounded by family.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, at the Cathedral of the Risen Christ in Lincoln. Monsignor Robert Tucker will officiate. Burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday in the Fullerton Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be 6-7 p.m. Thursday with a 7 p.m. rosary at the church. Visitation and prayer service one hour prior to burial at Palmer Funeral Home in Fullerton. Rev. Richard Whiteing will officiate.
She was born Nov. 19, 1932, in rural Palmer to John and Mary Dubas, the youngest of six children. She graduated from Fullerton High in 1950 and married Walter D. Shotkoski of Fullerton on Feb. 10th 1953. They celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary in 2009. They farmed in the Fullerton area for more than 20 years. Sally was employed by the Fullerton hospital and later on enjoyed a long career in retail management, eventually owning her own shoe boutique in Lincoln. A homemaker at heart, she enjoyed cooking, gardening, Nebraska football games and traveling with family.
Survivors include her husband, Walter, of Lincoln; five sons, Jeff (Connie) Shotkoski, of Sioux Falls, S.D., Rex (Angie) Shotkoski, of Greensboro, N.C., Robert (Ann) Shotkoski, of Arlington, Texas, Gary (Karyn) Shotkoski, and Walter (Michelle) Shotkoski Jr., both of Lincoln; 14 grandchildren, Summer (Jason) Schwab, Staci Shotkoski, Kylee Shotkoski, Rex (Dessia) Shotkoski, Jr, Jeremy Shotkoski, Joshua Shotkoski, Carly (Shad) Wobig, Derek Janssen, Craig Janssen, Steven Shotkoski, Jacob Shotkoski, Brendan Shotkoski, Cade Shotkoski, Rhett Shotkoski; three great-grandchildren, Saela Schwab, Delaney Schwab, Dessia Shotkoski; and two sisters, Leona Kurtz and Mary Ann Goodman, both of Omaha.
She was preceeded in death by her parents, two sisters, Eleanor Wozniak, Angeline Rice, and one brother, Raymond Dubas.
