COLUMBUS — Correnne "Corky" Krepel, 91, of Columbus, died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2017, at Columbus Care and Rehabilitation Center.
A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 8, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Columbus with the Rev. Patrick Sparling officiating. Interment will be in Schuyler Cemetery in Schuyler. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Gass Haney Funeral Home in Columbus and 9-10 a.m. Friday at the church. There will be a family prayer service at 9:45 a.m. Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
Corky Krepel was born May 27, 1926, in Schuyler to Alden and Martha (Warner) Moural. She graduated from Schuyler High School and on June 12, 1949, was united in marriage to Leonard Krepel in Schuyler. Corky worked at Dale Electronics and Columbus Manor before becoming the assistant manager of Columbus Place Apartments. She was a Red Cross volunteer and delivered Meals on Wheels. Corky was a faithful member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where she sung in the choir. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, doing latch hooking and going camping.
Corky is survived by her daughter Doris Rogers of Fairmont; son Leon (Kathy) Krepel of Beatrice; son Larry (Toni) Krepel of Columbus; son Gary Krepel of Columbus; son Ron Krepel of Columbus; son-in-law Larryl Shockley of Octavia; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Corky was preceded in death by her parents Alden and Martha Moural; husband Leonard Krepel; infant son Jerry Krepel; daughter Joyce Shockley; brother Dalton Moural; and son-in-law Al Rogers.
