COLUMBUS — Corrine Seymour, 74, of Columbus, died Friday, Nov. 10, 2017, in Columbus.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15, at St. Isidore Catholic Church, 3921 20th St., in Columbus. Visitation will be 6-7 p.m. Tuesday, with a 7 p.m. vigil, and 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, all at the church. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery in Columbus.
Corrine Helen Seymour was born June 2, 1943, in Monroe to James G. and Helen (Startz) Shemek. She grew up in the Columbus area and graduated from St. Bonaventure High School in 1962. After graduation, Corrine lived and worked in New York City at a bank as a clerical worker. A couple of years later, she moved to Denver, Colorado, where she met and married Allen Seymour from Hillsboro, New Hampshire, on April 22, 1967, at Immaculate Conception Cathedral. They had one daughter, Kimberly Helen.
Corrine attended Platte College Campus in Columbus where she received her Associate of Arts degree in business administration in 1972. She later attended the University of Nebraska at Kearney where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in business administration in 1981.
Corrine worked in various plants in the Columbus area including Becton Dickinson and Vishay. She also worked at Behlen Mfg. in the computer department for 10 years and at Appleton Electric for 16 years before she retired in 2008.
Corrine was an animal lover. She enjoyed reading, painting, cooking, aerobics and playing bingo. She was a member of St. Isidore Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Kim (Larry) Rice of Smithville, Missouri; brother, Maynard Shemek of Columbus; sister, Jolene (Gordon) Glock of Lincoln; two grandchildren, Ethan and Emma Rice; nephew, Scott (Laurie) Glock of Lincoln; great-nieces, Madison and Miranda Glock; nephew, Randall Glock of Lincoln; niece, Stacey (Michael) Kearney of Waverly; and great-nephew, Dyllen Kearney.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Jr. and Helen Shemek; and brother, Leland Shemek.
