COLUMBUS — Dave Blahak, 62, of Columbus, died Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2017, in Lincoln.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 9, at St. Isidore Catholic Church, 3921 20th St., in Columbus. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery in Columbus. Visitation will be 3-5 p.m. Sunday, with a 5 p.m. vigil, and 10-11 a.m. Monday, all at the church.
Dave was born Sept. 7, 1955, in Columbus to Herman and Stacia (Micek) Blahak. He received his education at Columbus Public Schools. Dave began working for the City of Columbus in 1975. He has worked for the street department since. Dave married Evelyn "Ev" Bialas on June 12, 1976, at St. Peters Catholic Church in Fullerton. He enjoyed camping, fishing, NASCAR and spending time with his family, especially his granddaughters.
Dave is survived by his wife Evelyn "Ev" Blahak of Columbus; sons Jeremy Blahak of Columbus and Jordan Blahak of Columbus; granddaughters Macy and Kaylie Blahak of Columbus; brothers Herman (Angela) Blahak of Abilene, Texas, and John (Shirley) Blahak of Palatka, Florida; sister Teena Rawhouser of Columbus; and sister-in-law Diane Blahak of Lincoln.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Laverne, sister Rosie and brother-in-law Harry Frerichs, brother Joe Blahak and brother-in-law Jim Rawhauser.
