GENOA — Katherine Mohrman, 89, of Genoa, formerly of Columbus, died Monday, Sept. 11, 2017, at Faith Regional Medical Center in Norfolk.
A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 15, at McKown Funeral Home in Columbus. Interment will be in Roselawn Cemetery in Columbus. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday and 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Katherine was born March 4, 1928, in Denver to John and Peggy (Lawrence) Smith. She grew up in Columbus and graduated from Kramer High School. She married John Mohrman Jr. on Sept. 21, 1947, at the First Baptist Church in Columbus. She and John farmed until moving into Columbus in 1991. Katherine was an accomplished artist. She enjoyed painting, traveling, flowers and feeding the birds and squirrels. She baked cakes and decorated for weddings for many years.
She is survived by her daughter Lou Ann Mohrman of Genoa and sister Fran Griffiths of Columbus.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband John and brother John Smith.
