LINDSAY -- Lidvene (Niemeyer) Van Dyke, age 92 years. Born to John and Caroline (Nienaber) Niemeyer on Dec. 4, 1920, in Lindsay. Died April 26, 2013, in Omaha.

Lidvene married Edwin Van Dyke June 24, 1941, and settled with him on a farm northwest of Humphrey. She was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, wine making, bowling, playing cards, quilting, and working puzzles. She was a devout member of St. Francis Catholic Church where she served as a Eucharistic minister.

Lidvene was a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed her family and friends. She is survived by her seven children: Karen (Jim) Koller of Columbia, Mo., Barbara Van Dyke, Margaret Van Dyke, Susan (Charlie) Miller, Merle (Nancy) Van Dyke, Joan Van Dyke, and Jackie (Kevin) Zach, all of the Omaha area. Lidvene had 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her sister, Alvira Berg of LeRoy, Minn. She is survived by her brother, Carrol (Madeline) Niemeyer of Lindsay, and sister, Patricia (Don) Adelman of Madison.

Visitation and rosary will be held at Deusman Funeral Home in Humphrey at 5 p.m. today. Mass of Christian burial will take place at St. Francis Catholic Church in Humphrey at 10 a.m. Monday. Donations can be made to St. Francis Catholic Church and School or to services that benefit the Humphrey community.
