Linda was born Oct. 1, 1948, in Humphrey to Arthur and Rose Marie Greisen, the eldest of four children.

Linda grew up on a farm near Humphrey and graduated from high school in 1966.

On April 27, 1968, she was united in marriage to Marvin Wemhoff, and together they raised two children, John and Angela. Following their marriage Marvin was drafted by the U.S. Army. Linda was able to stay near while he was training in Colorado Springs, but then returned to Humphrey to stay with her parents while Marvin served in Vietnam.

After Marvin’s discharge from the Army the couple made their home in Grand Island. Linda was employed by several local businesses but for the last 18 years she was employed as the vice chancellor at the diocese of Grand Island.

Linda had many talents. Her compassion and love led her to go on many mission trips, in the states and abroad. While working for the Grand Island Diocese she was assigned to many specialist groups to help children and any in need. Linda was also an active member of Blessed Catholic Church.

Linda enjoyed the outdoors. She made many fishing trips to Canada and loved her large flower gardens she grew. Linda enjoyed quilting in her spare time. Linda adored her family and loved to chase after her grandkids.

Those left to cherish her memory include her spouse of 49 years Marvin; son John (Cindy) Wemhoff of Grand Island; daughter Angela (Dave) McDermott of Grand Island; brothers Fr. Thomas Greisen of Omaha and Dan (Rosemary) Greisen of Sunny Vale, California; sister Lois (John) Pfeifer of Topeka, Kansas; six grandchildren, Jack, Kaitlyn “Katie" and Addison Wemhoff and Samuel “Sam," Luke and Henry McDermott; and many, many friends.

Linda was preceded in death by her father Arthur Greisen.

Linda’s fight with Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (PSC) brought to light how important organ donation is; she would want everyone to consider becoming an organ donor.

Memorials are suggested to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and the MaryKnoll Lay Missionaries.
