COLUMBUS -- Marilyn J. Coffey, 73, of Columbus, died Saturday, Feb. 3, 2018, at Cottonwood House in Columbus.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church in Columbus, with Rev. Cindi Stewart officiating. Private family inurnment will be in Roselawn Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at Gass Haney Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to First United Methodist Church.
Marilyn was born March 25, 1944, in Merrick County, to Raymond and Marjorie (Kuhn) Heule. She attended Merrick County grade school and graduated from Clarks High School. Marilyn was united in marriage to Donald R. Coffey on Oct. 10, 1964, at First United Methodist Church in Columbus. They lived in Columbus until 1985 when they moved to Grand Island. They returned to the Columbus area the following year and made their home at Brandenburgh Lakes for 11 years before moving to their home on East 8th Street, and most recently in Columbus.
Marilyn was a member of First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed sewing and gardening.
Marilyn is survived by daughter Kimberly (Terry) Loftin of Fort Collins, Colorado; son Troy (Judy) Coffey of Columbus; grandchildren Steven (Alannah) Coffey of Duncan, Jeffrey Coffey, Ryan Coffey, and Megan Coffey all of Columbus; great-grandson Spencer Coffey of Duncan; sister Joyce Jonas of Omaha; sister Shirley (Frank) Hughes of Platte Center and brother Gene (Suzy) Heule of Columbus.
Marilyn was preceded in death by parents Raymond and Marjorie Heule and husband Donald Coffey.
