PLAZA, N.D. — Marvin Lee Drumheller, born June 29, 1946, in Scottsbluff, died Friday, Sept. 22, 2017, in his home in Plaza, North Dakota.
Marvin was a jack-of-all-trades. He worked on the family farm in Alliance as a young man. He sold insurance for Nebraska Farmer for several years and eventually got into construction. Marvin owned and operated his own construction company for 35 years. Marvin worked hard and instilled a strong love for a job well done in all 12 of his children. He was an avid fisherman, creative leather craftsman and furniture maker. He enjoyed hunting and bowling if time allowed.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, Alex and Phyllis (Westphalen) Drumheller, and brother, Leland Drumheller.
Marvin is survived by his wife Rita (Katen) Drumheller, children Marcie Sextro (Dean) of Madison, Timothy Drumheller (Debra) of Leigh, Tonya Fuhr (Dave) of Leigh, Mathew Drumheller (Jeanne) of Plaza, North Dakota, Sean Drumheller (Shelby) of Carroll, Iowa, Carrie Drumheller of Nashville, Tennessee, Kristal Alder (Bryon) of Plainview, Sarah Drumheller of Nashville, Tennessee, Jesse Drumheller (Ashley) of Union, Deidre Goedeken (Bryan) of Plaza, North Dakota, Andrew Drumheller of Nashville, Tennessee, and Joshua Drumheller of Plaza, North Dakota, 31 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, brothers, Myron Drumheller (Betty) and Merlin Drumheller (Sally), sister Mina Bessy (Steve), and 12 nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 29, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Leigh. There will be a rosary at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the church followed by visitation at 7 p.m.
