COLUMBUS – Robert "Bob" Brehm Sr., 78, of Columbus, died Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2011, at his home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church, 1565 18th Ave., in Columbus. Interment will be in the Columbus Cemetery in Columbus.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. today, with a 7 p.m. vigil, and continuing 8-10 a.m. Friday, all at McKown Funeral Home.
Robert Bob J. Brehm, Sr. was born Nov. 24, 1932, in Columbus, to Peter and Clara (Kirsch) Brehm. Grew up in Columbus and graduated from St. Bonaventure High School in 1950.
Bob married Rose Dixon on May 28, 1955, in Alma. Bob went to work for Behlen's before the couple established Bob's TV and Appliance, which they owned and operated until retirement in 1989. They also operated Adams Cafe in Columbus for several years. Bob and Rose traveled extensively.
They visited many countries and all 50 states. Bob also loved camping, metal detecting, and collecting antiques. He was a member of St. Bonaventure Catholic Church.
He is survived by his daughter, Jackie (Dave) Kunes, of Columbus; daughter, Vicki Meyer, of Papillion; daughter, Jere (Jim) Baldwin, of Columbus; daughter, Terri (Larry) Seiler, of Leigh; son, Bob (Kelly) Brehm, Jr., of Columbus; daughter, Kristie Ellis, of Columbus; son, Dan Brehm, of Columbus; 21 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and loyal companion, Domino.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Rose Brehm, on Aug. 29, 1993; parents, Peter and Clara Brehm; infant son and daughter, Mark and Clara; granddaughters, Jessica Klug-Brehm and Kunes infant twins; brother, Reinhold Brehm; and sister, Charlotte Zerr.
In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the family wishes.
