COLUMBUS — Rosemary Jeffres, 93, of Columbus, died Sunday, Sept. 3, 2017, at Brookestone Acres in Columbus.
A funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 7, at First United Methodist Church, 2710 14th St., in Columbus with the Rev. Cindi Stewart officiating. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at McKown Funeral Home in Columbus and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church. Interment will be in Roselawn Cemetery in Columbus.
Rosemary Jeffres was born July 20, 1924, in Cedar Rapids to Jasper and Nellie (Condreay) Cruise. She grew up in Cedar Rapids and graduated from Cedar Rapids High School. On Nov. 15, 1942, Rosemary was united in marriage to Ray Jeffres in Cedar Rapids. They moved to Columbus where she worked at Dale Electronics/Vishay for over 30 years before retiring in 1986. Rosemary enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Peg Jeffres of Columbus; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray in 1992; parents, Jasper and Nellie Cruise; brothers, George, Neal (Lucille) and Wayne (Pearl) Cruise; and sister, Margaret (Larry) Layher.
