OSCEOLA — Scott Allen Conkling, 52, of Osceola, passed away Dec. 7, 2012, at his home in Osceola.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church in Osceola with Pastor Robert Perry officiating. Inurnment will be in the Osceola Cemetery. Dubas Funeral Home of Osceola and Stromsburg has been entrusted with arrangements.

Scott was born March 8, 1960, to Orley W. and Thelma M. (Donelson) Conkling in Osceola. He attended school in Stromsburg for a short time and then attended Osceola elementary school and graduated from Osceola High School in 1978. He then attended Hastings Tech School and studied agriculture and mechanics.

Scott started his own trucking business, at first hauling cattle and then became an over the road truck driver. He was also involved in farming.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Osceola. He enjoyed playing football while in high school, trucking, good friends, and doing his own thing.

Survivors include one brother Don (Betty Lou) Conkling of Osceola; three sisters Katherin (Clyde) Sachtleben of Hastings, Margaret Eickmeier of Seward and Donita (Ken) Satterwhite of Grand Prairie, Texas; nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Orley and Thelma.
