GENOA — Shane Gottsch, 20, of Genoa, died Sunday, July 22, 2012, at the Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha as a result of an automobile accident.
The funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 27, 2012, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, in Genoa, with Pastor Julie Hampton officiating. The interment will be in the Valley View Cemetery in Genoa.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the church, and will continue one hour prior to the service Friday at church.
Shane Gottsch was born Sept. 24, 1991, in Columbus, to Doug and Michelle (Reeg) Gottsch. Shane attended school in Genoa and graduated from Twin River High School in 2010. Shane was employed at Lost Island Confinement near Monroe. He was baptized and confirmed at Augustana Lutheran Church in Genoa. Shane had a love for animals, especially horses. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family and friends.
Shane is survived by his parents, Doug and Michelle Gottsch, of Genoa; sister, Chelsey Gottsch, of Genoa; grandparents, Ted and Charlotte Gottsch, of Monroe; grandfather, Keith Reeg, of Genoa; special friend, Hannah Foust, of Columbus; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Shane was preceded in death by his sister, Bridget Gottsch; grandmother, Rosalie Reeg; and great-grandparents.
