COLUMBUS — Timothy L. Kneifel, 59, died Sunday, Nov. 12, 2017, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 17, at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church, 1565 18th Ave., in Columbus. Interment will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery in Columbus. Visitation will be 4-7:30 p.m. Thursday, with a 7:30 p.m. vigil, and 8-10 a.m. Friday, all at McKown Funeral Home in Columbus.
Timothy L. Kneifel was born March 11, 1958, in Columbus to F. Eugene Geno and Delores May (Hopkin) Kneifel. He graduated from Columbus High School in 1978 and attended Northeast Technical Community College. While in high school Tim worked at the Columbus Sales Pavilion. He received his Eagle Scout award in 1976. Tim continued to help with Troop 115 as an assistant scoutmaster. He worked for Home Plumbing and Heating and Ernst Auto before going to work for his parents at Geno’s Ice in 1986. Tim was a member of St. Bonaventure Church. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing and traveling. Tim was a Friends of Music member and attended the events at the Playhouse Theatre.
He is survived by his mother Delores Kneifel of Columbus, brother Danny (Billie) Kneifel of Columbus, sisters Rose Settje of Lincoln and Jenny (Charles) Wilson of Lincoln, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Eugene Geno Kneifel, brother Stephen Kneifel and nephew Corey Kneifel.
