COLUMBUS — Shutterbugs put their skills to the test in the Columbus/Platte County Convention and Visitors Bureau photography contest.

The competition featured categories showcasing festivals, outdoor activities and vistas, nature and landmarks in Platte County. First-place winners from each category were considered for best of show and a $100 prize.

That honor went to Stacey Brooks for her photo titled “Memorial Reflection” of waving American flags reflected on a vehicle. It also took first in the festivals category.

The second-place winner in that category was Robin Nyffeler and third place went to Carolyn Lueschen.

Other winners are:

• Natural Still Life: first place Robin Nyffeler, second place Lisa Schacher and third place Suzette Carrig-Brown.

• Landmark: first place Brandon Shelton, second place Carolyn Lueschen, third place Emily Hall and honorable mention Sarah Micek.

• Outdoor Activities and Vistas: first place Sarah Celmer, second place Sarah Celmer and third place Kynnlee Hamling.

The competition was open to professionals and amateurs of all ages. Prize money was awarded in each category with first place earning $40, second getting $20 and third pocketing $10.

All contest entries are posted on the Columbus/Platte County Convention and Visitors Bureau Facebook page — facebook.com/ColumbusNeCVB — and displayed at the CVB office, 753 33rd Ave.
