To the editor:
This letter is written in hopes that the gracious lady who paid for my fruit purchases at a local supermarket will read this.
I want to thank her very much. She spared me an extra trip home, which I was prepared to do. On that Sunday afternoon, I had a senior moment and left my wallet in another pair of trousers, after changing into shorts. I was completely penniless.
I am very grateful for her gesture, which was entirely unexpected, and perhaps one day I can pass it on.
In appreciation of her kind gesture,
P.S. I'm also glad I didn't have an auto accident, as I would have had a lot of explaining to do to the police.
