The family of Dwaine J. Schmit would like to express our appreciation to all for the acts of kindness shown by the many cards, masses, prayers, phone calls, hospital visits, flowers, plaques, angel figurines, memorials, and food brought to family members’ homes.

Thanks to the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus Assembly #3301 for providing the Honor Guard at both the vigil and funeral Mass. Thanks to the Knights of Columbus Men’s Choir and Carol Pohl for providing music. It was beautiful! Thanks to the Bellwood Legion Post 327 Honor Guard for their presence, to the two representatives of the US Army, to the Pall Bearers, and those who helped at the Mass, and to Fr. Leo Seiker, Sacred Heart Parish, Shelby, and Fr. James Buckley, St. Cecilia Cathedral, Omaha, for assisting Fr. Ben Holdren at the Mass.

Many thanks to the Altar Society ladies of St. Joseph’s and St. Peter parishes for the refreshments after the rosary, to those who worked at the funeral dinner, to Quality Catering for the delicious meal, and the many donations of salads and desserts.

Special thanks to Dr. Cameron & Dr. Kapels of Columbus Community Hospital, the excellent Nursing staff of the ICU, and the Columbus Community Hospital Hospice staff for their wonderful care and compassion show to Dad and the family during this difficult time.

Thanks to Brad Eickhoff of McKown Funeral home for his excellent service and kind words. Special thanks to Fr. Holdren, and to Fr. Joe Miksch of St. Isidore’s parish for their many visits to Dad and Mom at Meridian Gardens. We are truly blessed to have such wonderful support, and if we should miss anyone with our thanks, please accept this message as your “thank you”.
