• Rylee and Emily Stevenson were afternoon visitors Sept. 3 at the home of their grandmother Florence Stevenson. Rylee, who attends UNO, spent Labor Day weekend at the home of her parents Ken and Denise Stevenson and her sister Emily of rural Richland.

• Ted and Ardy Engel of Columbus were honored for their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house held 1-4 p.m. Sept. 2 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Shell Creek. It was given by their children Calleen, Bud and Heather and their grandchildren Whitney, Kaine and Eli. Among those attending were Jim and Suzie Engel, Louis and Barb Welch, Florence Stevenson and Charlene Klug.

• Ken and Rojean Schaer of Columbus were recent visitors of Evelyn Saalfeld, a resident at Columbus Care and Rehabilitation Center. Ken is Evelyn’s brother.

• Sept. 2 guests at a BBQ dinner at the home of Bob and Kathy Leimser in Richland were Pam Wachal and Mike, Dawn and Jonathan Heese, all of Omaha, and Brent, Natasha and Khole Van Diest of Columbus.

• Jerel and Carol Engel of Richland attended the Columbus versus Schuyler freshman football game in Columbus on the evening of Aug. 31. Their grandson Caden Thege is a member of the Columbus team.

• Quient Schaffer, Adair Schaffer and her son Louie Williams spent Sept. 3 at Genoa Lakes.

• A group of ladies from Columbus came to Schuyler on Labor Day and had lunch at noon at the senior citizen center, then watched the parade. They were Charlene Klug, Millie Wennekamp, Esther Kummer, Elaine Tiaden, Marlene Wilke and Marilyn Klug.

• Charlene Klug of Columbus was among the invited guests at B.J. Barcel's annual get-together at his home in Bellwood on the afternoon of Sept. 3. A meal was enjoyed and entertainment was provided for all.

• Charlene Klug played cards at Peace Lutheran Church in Columbus on the evening of Sept. 1.

• Skip and Lorene Oehlrich of Richland and Ashley Oehlrich of Elkhorn were Sept. 2 supper guests at the home of Nathan, Tori, J.R., Kipton and Eli Oehlrich. The group watched the Nebraska versus Arkansas State football game.

• Attending the parade in Schuyler on Labor Day were Skip and Lorene Oehlrich and Nathan, Tori, J.R., Kipton and Eli Oehlrich. Nathan participated in the parade driving the pickup for Tri-County Ag.

• Attending the Labor Day parade in Schuyler were Harley and Janet Loseke and Florence Stevenson of Richland and Elaine Abraham of Schuyler.
