COLUMBUS — Gladys M. Husak, 75, died Tuesday, May 16, 2017, at Columbus Care and Rehabilitation Center.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 23, at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Columbus. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Monday, with a 7 p.m. vigil, and 8:30-10 a.m. Tuesday, all at McKown Funeral Home in Columbus.
Gladys Marie Husak was born Jan. 3, 1942, in rural Schuyler to Stanley and Sylvia (Fendrick) Oborny. She graduated from Schuyler High School in 1960. On Sept. 16, 1961, Gladys was united in marriage to Richard Husak in Schuyler. She was a homemaker and worked at various jobs including the Columbus Manor. Gladys was a member of St. Bonaventure Church and the Legion of Mary.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Husak of Columbus; son, Randy Husak of Omaha; grandson, Scott (Mackenzie Melcher) Poppe of Lincoln; great-granddaughter, Adrielle Murphy of Lincoln; great-granddaughter soon to be born, Amelia Poppe; mother, Sylvia Oborny of Schuyler; sister, Carolyn (Larry) Peters of Schuyler; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Stanley Oborny.
