WAYNE — A new addition allowed Schuyler to post a team score Sept. 21 during the Wayne Invite.
Senior Maria Vega joined the girls golf team about three weeks ago and recently worked her way into the lineup.
Schuyler shot a 540 to finish 14th during the 18-team event played at Wayne Country Club.
"We played much better today than last Friday at Crete," Schuyler coach Jeff Droge said. "I was pleased to see us bounce back."
Claire Martin, who took 42nd individually, led the team by shooting a 120, just two strokes off her personal-best score.
"She hit the ball as well as I have seen from her this season," Droge said. "That's what you want your seniors to do, keep improving and play the best golf of their career down the homestretch."
Jennifer Lopez added a 131 for the Warriors, Ivana Lopez shot a 136 and Vega recorded a 153.
"I anticipate her scores coming down with each meet from here on out," Droge said of Vega.
Cassidy Ulrich of Hartington Cedar Catholic won the individual title with an 88 to beat second-place Sidney Erickson of Pierce by a stroke.
Pierce shot a 398 to beat second-place Norfolk Catholic by four strokes and O'Neill was third with a 410 team total.
Schuyler plays Friday in the Central Conference Tournament at Quail Run Golf Course in Columbus. The district tournament is set for Monday at Elks Country Club outside Columbus.
