SEWARD — The Schuyler Central High School girls golf team competed Friday at the Seward Invitational.

With only three varsity golfers the Lady Warriors weren’t eligible in the team race, but they did put together some noteworthy performances at Seward Country Club.

Seniors Claire Martin and Jennifer Lopez both recorded personal-best scores over 18 holes.

Martin topped her previous best by 11 strokes by carding a 118. Lopez matched that score, beating her personal-best round by 20 shots.

Sophomore Ivana Lopez shot a 137 for Schuyler, which competes again Thursday in the York Invite at York Country Club.

“We will keep working and see if we can get those scores even lower,” SCHS coach Jeff Droge said.

Central Conference power Aurora shot a 357 to win the Seward Invite by two strokes over Elkhorn South. York carded a 380 to take third.

Aurora’s Danica Badura fired a 71 to win the individual title.
