NFL player and Schuyler Central High School graduate Kyle Emanuel recently visited the local high school and middle school.
Emanuel, a 2010 graduate of SCHS who plays for the Los Angeles Chargers, spoke to students about a typical week as an NFL player: weightlifting sessions, studying film, attending team meetings, practices, community events, travel and game day.
He also discussed the commitment and hard work necessary to compete at the collegiate and pro levels and talked about the importance of mental toughness and character.
Emanuel, who won four FCS national championships with North Dakota State before being drafted in 2015, shared his experiences from SMS and SCHS and the activities he was involved in, including numerous sports, student council, Math and Science Club, National Honor Society, S-Club and marching band.
The local star took photos with students and staff and signed a few autographs.
