YORK — York Country Club was Schuyler's nemesis against last week.
The Schuyler girls finished last Aug. 31 at the 10-team York Invite after struggling again at the course.
Warriors head coach Jeff Droge attributed the performance to the difficulty of York Country Club.
“Scores are always higher across the board at York, but we seem to struggle there more than the other teams. It was a pretty safe bet we would not shoot as good there as we did last week at Seward, but I was still a little disappointed in how much higher our scores were today,” he said. “I know we will bounce back, though. We got to put this one behind us and move forward.”
Claire Martin was the Warriors' top performer, shooting a 152. Ivana Lopez carded a 158 and Jennifer Lopez finished with a 159.
The Warriors didn’t have a fourth golfer, forcing them to take a 180 for that spot and giving Schuyler a team total of 650.
Aurora won the team title by shooting a 404, and York was second with a 407.
Seward’s Kendra Placke edged Aurora’s Danica Badura for the individual title. She fired a 74 while Badura shot a 76.
Schuyler is scheduled to play Thursday in the Lakeview Invite at Quail Run Golf Course in Columbus.
